Why did you join North Lenoir Fire & Rescue?
I like helping people and it’s a great way to serve my community. I wanted to do my part in helping to keep my community safe and make a difference in peoples’ lives.

What do you like most about North Lenoir Fire & Rescue?
The way the department operates and how we hold ourselves to a professional level whether it be at training or on the fire ground. Also, the training can be pretty intense at times, and can challenge you mentally and physically, but its rewarding to get through it. Being on the department is almost like having a second family. If I ever needed anything, I know all I would have to do is pick up the phone and call anyone on the fire department and they would be there.

What do you like to do for fun?
I like to go hunting, fishing, and spending time with family and friends. I also like working with wood, making duck calls, and carving duck decoys.

What community activities are you involved in outside of the fire department?
I am a member of Institute United Methodist Church. I was also involved with Boy Scout Troop 392 and received my Eagle Scout.

What would people be surprised to know about you?
I have a twin sister who is one minute older than me.

What advice would you give someone interested in joining the fire service?
Make sure its something you truly want to do. It takes a lot of time and effort, and it is a huge commitment.
